Perfect Picture Book Friday
Hoot & Honk Just Can’t Sleep (Sterling Children’s Books, 2017) by Leslie Helakoski is one of those picture books I read and like. But when I reread it I like it even more.
As the title says, these bird can’t sleep. Because they are each in the wrong nest.
It makes me smile. I love the mirroring in the story. The text is sparse, but just enough. The illustrations are delightful. Hoot and Honk would make fun stuffed animals. Can I have a set? 😉
